  • How far is the daycare centre from LSNZ?
The majority of daycare centres are within a 10 to 20-minute walking distance from LSNZ. While buses are available, opting to walk may be more convenient, considering the bus schedule.
  • Can homestay be arranged for this program?
Homestay availability depends on the time of inquiry, but there are host families who welcome families with young children.
  • What are other accommodation options?
Christchurch offers a comprehensive range of accommodation options, including serviced apartments, regular hotels, and motels. We can guide the most suitable option for your family.
  • Can LSNZ assist with communication with the daycare centre?
Certainly, please reach out to the school staff, and we will facilitate communication on your behalf.
  • How do I pay the tuition?
LSNZ consolidates school fees, homestay fees (if applicable), daycare arrangement fees, and tuition into a single invoice. If additional fees arise after the payment, you can settle them onsite.
  • Which session should I choose for childcare?
NZ childcare centres typically offer two options – a full-day session and a short-day session. Children enrolled in the full-day session can attend childcare throughout the day, depending on the centre's operating hours. Sessional or short-day sessions cater to children attending fixed hours, usually between 5 to 6 hours within the centre's operating hours. Given the high cost of overtime charges in NZ childcare, choosing the full-day option is highly recommended if you prefer flexibility in drop-off/pick-up times.
  • Do I need to rent a child car seat?
If your host family can accommodate transportation for you and your child, child car seats are mandatory. All children under seven years of age must use an approved child restraint suitable for their age and size. We can arrange these upon request, or if you are renting a car, please rent the car seat concurrently. For further information, please consult the following website: NZTA Child Restraints Guide. Note that car seats are not mandatory for public transportation.
